But HEY, that kid from Love, Actually is playing Paul! ♥♥♥ I'm sure any badness might be mitigated if I just get to see him in it :)

Moar WoW progression! I finally completed all the (required) Hallow's End achievements (for serious, screw collecting all those racial masks, I am SO glad that wasn't part of the process) and I got my title! (no, I don't really have a blank ring space, btw, just for some reason my Ring of Ghoulish Glee isn't showing.)

I'm am excited to get this on my death knight ^__^ They're already pretty Halloween, with the big blue glowy zombie eyes XD Now gonna work on getting the Headless Horseman's mount, but I haven't even seen it drop yet :(

Meanwhile I look longingly at the old tier 6 Lightbringer paladin armor sets (here's the Retribution set, plus the draenei version, drooool) and lament the fact that A) I'd have to get together several raid groups (ten AND 25 man) if I even wanted this set, B) they've been outclassed by the Wrath of the Lich King sets, and C) it'd just be for vanity because it looks so freaking cool. The little crown/halo helm is ASDFJKL; I am a TOTAL geek by admitting I love that :D Ask me again why paladins > all, why don't you?

I don't even care about winning arguments if there isn't any civility in it. I think that's the thing that stays with me about this whole stupid internet dick measuring contest we call fandom; it's not that someone disagrees, it's that they're insulting about it, and it's rubs me the wrong way when I have to return it.

There's a way to be insistent and make your point without disparaging someone or a group of people, there always is, just like there's a way to make an argument not based on crazed shipping, or being attacked for liking something. I thought the secret was out of line in the way all anonymous things tend to be, but when you know who you're talking to, when you know something about someone--and this someone happened to like Wincest, which gets lots of flak on its own--and get the "you're crazy for liking this character/person/ship, it's because of your kind of people I don't like what the show's doing" treatment when you haven't even come close to hitting below the belt, it fucking sucks. It's an unhappy business. And it's distasteful, and pretty much the antithesis of what you'd want to find in a fandom.

I'm happy to have my flist. I'm happy to be with people that actually like the show, its plot direction, its characters, the actors and the crew and the fan creations. I like being not being judged for being positive. You are my happy bubble and I hope to not leave it ♥

I've told myself I'm not going to go to f!s at least for a while; it's the most volatile part of fandom I've associated with, and it's a breeding ground for negativity. I'm staying with the ONTD comm, the sanest, most laid back bunch of SPN fans in existence (♥)

And to occupy myself, I kind of went on a screencapping spree *looks sheepish* spoilers for anyone who hasn't hit the fourth season :) Funny that this is my go to happy episode, since it was so chock full of misery and blood and shadowy coloring, haha. But it's my favorite, and there's very little I don't enjoy about this ep <3

I was gearing up to have an epic happy weekend, but it turns out John and Sam went out of town, but I still get to keep Big Boss (the turtle *g*) company. I can't remember when it started becoming necessary to have my brother around for me to have a good weekend, but a lot of things about him and our relationship in general have been sneaking up on me lately.

Yesterday, he played "Martha My Dear" on the piano and I just absently whistled along and felt content.

3. What was your favorite part of Star Trek 2009?

FFFFFFFF, HOW DARE YOU MAKE ME CHOOSE AGAIN. Has to be the meeting between the young Kirk and Spock Prime. There's this gravity and undeniable nostalgia and emotional weight that settles right in your stomach the moment you realize who's saving Kirk from that huge beast. I couldn't even squeal properly, I was so knocked over by Leonard Nimoy's presence onscreen. And the important part was it wasn't shoe-horned in, and he brought the specter of Kirk Prime even though Shatner was nowhere to be seen. Powerful stuff.

4. IF CHARLIE THE UNICORN SHOWED UP AT YOUR DOORSTEP, WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

So, funny thing about the debate I talked about yesterday. It's raining cats and dogs this morning, the kind of rain that when you drive on the highway, you're fucked if you're even slightly behind an adjacent vehicle because their tires will inevitably hike up the water into your windshield and you can't see shit unless you crank the wipers all the way up. Yeah, so that and slow traffic because a cop pulled someone over made me about five minutes late to my debate.

It didn't end up being a huge deal, because our opposition, uh. Didn't show up. Yeah. The point of a debate is to have two sides. How their grades are going to end up, I don't know, because the panels and debates were a huge part of the overall class grade. My research and writing didn't totally go to waste, though. We still presented our information and took questions from classmates, but it was all pretty one sided since no one in that room thought we should actually stay in Iraq. But I was kind of spoiling for a fight, lol.


I want to change up my layout :| I love you Castiel, but change is a good thing. Looking for something Winchester-centric though.


Starting an Xmas list now: Paul McCartney's live in New York DVD, Assassin's Creed II, Dean's silver ring (oh shut up, too fangirly), brownie pudding and vanilla ice cream, Jensen Ackles. Get on that, people :P

Sorry for the random, sharp bout of emo in the last post, guys. I kind of had a long night and got to overthinking things. Not to say any of it was untrue or anything, I just don't want to make anyone feel put upon to deal with my shit, heh.

Had a bio exam today that I had next to no clue about. It's those kind of exams that really piss you off, yanno, the ones that test on really specific, obscure information that makes sure you read the book, but the kind of stuff that even if you did read the book, it wouldn't occur to you to remember? Yeah.

Get a debate on the Iraq War tomorrow, which should be fun. The first debate (gay marriage. I live in the most conservative county in California, so you can imagine how that was) just about ended in a knock down drag out brawl, so I can't wait for this shit.
